Your privacy is important to us. This policy explains how Mälarportens Veterinär collects, uses, stores and protects your personal data in accordance with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and applicable confidentiality legislation.

- Information about your pet – name, breed, age, health

- Other information – that you provide to us yourself

- Administer bookings and customer register

We store your information as follows:
- Pet journals and health records: At least five (5) years after the last entry, according to Swedish Board of Agriculture regulations (SJVFS 2019:23)
- Invoicing and payments: At least seven (7) years, as required by law
- Other customer data: Deleted when no longer needed for communication, care or services, unless law requires longer storage
4. Sharing with third parties
Trusted suppliers
We may share data with:
- External laboratories
- IT operations and support
- Invoicing and payment services
- Booking systems
All third-party suppliers are covered by data processing agreements and may not use the data for their own purposes.
Other recipients
- Authorities – County Administrative Board or Police, when required by law
- Other clinics – Only with owner consent, e.g., for referral or transfer of care
- Insurance companies – In connection with claims, direct settlement or preliminary decisions
All recipients are bound by confidentiality and may only use the data for the stated purpose.
5. Security
We have technical and organizational security measures in place to protect your data. Only authorized staff have access to personal data.
We may be legally required to disclose records to authorities (County Administrative Board or Police) during supervision or investigation.
6. Your rights
You have the right to:
- Request transfer of your data (data portability)
- Object to certain processing
- Request deletion of data under certain circumstances
- Request correction of incorrect data
- Request a copy of the data we have about you
